We support and advance the work of small non-profits that exist to better the lives — emotionally, physically and spiritually — of the marginalized members of our community. We focus primarily, but not exclusively, on programs that promote empowerment and self sufficiency for women and children, because we believe it is the women who hold the center of the family and build strong community.


The Farber Baggenstos Foundation honors the continued guidance of our co-founder, Annalu Farber. You are so dearly missed, Nanalu.

Mission and Eligibility

Geographic Area

We serve the greater Pierce County, Washington area, though some exceptions may be made for adjoining counties.

Grantmaking Timeline

Grants for the current funding cycle are due by July 1st, 2024. Grant funding will be issued on or before November 1st, 2024.

Grant Funding

We are a small family foundation that focuses on small, local area non-profits, those with annual budgets of $1,000,000 or less.

Grant Eligibility

  1. All submitting organizations must be 501(C)3 IRS qualified
  2. Preference will be given to organizations serving the people of Pierce County and/or the surrounding geographic area
  3. We encourage grants that focus on:
    • Innovative ways to enhance or expand existing programs central to your organization’s mission
    • New initiatives closely tied to your organization’s mission
    • Capital improvements critical to sustaining the mission of your organization
    • Occasionally, grants may be considered for general operating expenses
  4. Grants will not be made to
    • health care organizations
    • educational groups/organizations
    • religious communities/organizations
